It’s on the house for veterans come November 11th at St. Clair Winery and Bistro!  

St. Clair Winery and Bistro will honor all U.S. Armed Forces, past and present, across the state this Veterans Day, November 11, 2015.  To show their gratitude to all the brave men and women, St. Clair Winery and Bistro will offer a free meal from a special menu to thank them for their service.

Each of the three St. Clair Winery and Bistro locations in Albuquerque, Farmington and Las Cruces will be participating in the celebration.  The custom Veterans Day menu will be available to all active duty military and qualifying veterans dining-in from 11 am to 9 pm this Veterans Day.

“Their sacrifice and dedication deserves something special, we at St. Clair are grateful and we want to give back,”  said Marketing Director Maritza Gomez.  “Serving those who serve is the best way we know how.”

The special Veterans Day menu includes a hearty taste of home like Southwest Meatloaf, Chicken Picado, and Country Pot Roast, as well as local favorites like Pasta New Mexico, Cobb Salad and Fish ’N’ Chips will be featured.  Beverage and gratuity are not included.

To claim a free meal at St. Clair Winery and Bistro, Veterans and Active Duty Military simply need to show their proof of military service.  This can include U.S. Uniformed Services ID Card, U.S. Uniformed Services Retired ID Card, current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), veterans organizations card or wearing their uniform.

St. Clair Winery and Bistro is a division of Southwest Wines, offering wine under several labels, including D.H. Lescombes, St. Clair and several specialty wines—including Soleil Mimosa, Plum Loco and Blue Teal.  Southwest Wines grows, produces and bottles all their wines in New Mexico.

VETERANS FREE MENU SELECTION

Roasted Red Pepper Lasagna Paired with St Clair Cabernet Sauvignon

Roasted Red Pepper Lasagna

Ingredients

Nonstick cooking spray
2  cups red pasta sauce, such as portobello mushroom or garden vegetable
6  no-boil lasagna noodles
1/2  15 ounce container ricotta cheese
6 ounces goat cheese or shredded mozarella cheese (1-1/2 cups)
1 tablespoon Chianti or other red wine (optional)
¼ cup finely shredded Parmesan cheese
1 cup roasted red sweet peppers, drained well and cut into strip

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly coat a 2-quart square baking dish with cooking spray. Spoon 1/3 cup of the sauce in the dish. Top with 2 lasagna noodles. In a small bowl stir together the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of the goat chesses, and, if desired, the Chianti. Spoon half the mixture over the noodles in the dish. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons Parmesan. Top with half the red pepper strips. Spoon half the remaining sauce on the pepper layer.
  2. Top with 2 more noodles, the remaining ricotta mixture, and remaining peppers. Add 2 more noodles and the remaining sauce. Dot top with remaining goat cheese and sprinkle with remaining Parmesan.
  3. Cover with foil. Bake for 50 minutes. Let stand, covered, on a wire rack for 20 minutes before serving. Makes 4 to 6 servings
